Fantasy Madness

               March
     Fantasy Madness
I for one have been devastated by the NBA lockout.  I’ve paid a little more attention to the NHL and even have begun to follow -- gasp -- the MLS.  Luckily Love Boat Sports has come up with a new fantasy college basketball game called Fantasy Madness to help fully integrate you to the college season.  The Loveboat staff is currently drafting but it has been a long process that has been made longer thanks to this guy.  We will get some posts up after the draft but until then here are the rules:

Number of players: Ideally 8-10

Players draft teams as opposed to players from D-I schools.  Each player is only allowed to draft one team from each conference.  You can have as many rounds of the draft as conferences; for the Loveboat league we are doing 30 rounds I believe.  If you don’t want to invest as much time in the draft you can do 10 rounds or whatever really.
Scoring:
1 Point for winning a conference game
2 Points for beating a top 25 team
4 Points for beating a top 10 team
15 Points for winning regular season conference*
5 Points for winning conference tournament*
5 Points for making NCAA Tournament
1 Point for making NIT
15 Points for making final 4
40 Points for winning NCAA Tournament

*For conferences with two different sections each regular season winner gets 10 points and the tournament winner also gets 10 points.

So there it is, Fantasy Madness.  You can obviously tweak the rules as you like but hopefully this will enhance your NCAAB watching experience.  Here's to rooting for Texas A&M Corpus-Christi on a Wednesday night in November.
